  • A call to artists asked them to create an artwork in one of the following categories:

It’s BEAN in the Family for Generations
Illustrate a family recipe that tells a story, depicts a scene, evokes an emotion, or narrates a memory.

    I’ve BEAN around the World
Illustrate a recipe that visually celebrates the culture from which the recipe comes.

    Cool BEANS
Create an illustration—not necessarily a recipe—that features bean facts, history, ingredient combinations, and/or cooking techniques. Check out this website for inspiration and information!

Artwork and recipes must feature one (or more) type of beans. Suggested bean types include black beans, red beans, navy beans, baby lima beans, black-eyed beans, red kidney beans, great northern beans, pinto beans, garbanzo beans, or adzuki beans. The illustrations will be judged on criteria including technique, typography, layout, inspiration, and concept.

The judges include TDAC co-founders Nate Padavick and Salli Swindell and 2 representatives from contest sponsor US Dry Bean Council.

Visit the contest page for more information.
